FIREFLY WOMEN SERIES
The series is a visual exploration inspired by the theatrical play "Firefly Women," which delves into the stories of individuals who fought for reason. It portrays the way spectators internalize these narratives, often leading to a conflict in perception within themselves. The pieces juxtapose various events, highlighting the vulnerability that has been diluted by their repetitive occurrence. Through this repetition, the emotional impact of these events is diminished, numbing the suffering of those directly affected and desensitizing the emotions of the audience. The artwork serves as a form of remembrance, prompting viewers to reflect on how these events have become normalized over time. It also critiques the performative nature of society, revealing the harsh truths of existence through a lens of self-mockery.

This work aims to delve into the depths of parallel narratives, one distant and one close to home.
Embedded within the artwork lies a profound commentary on the algorithmic nature of perception. The decision of which image one encounters and responds to is governed by an echo chamber, reinforcing pre-existing opinions and biases.
Photographic images within the artwork are recreated with careful consideration of intention and intensity. Repetition serves to amplify the message, expanding its meaning while simultaneously risking the erosion of its context. Each image, meticulously chosen, beckons to question our role in bearing witness to the human experience and to consider the transformative potential of empathy and action.
