As themed ‘The Nature of Difference’. it unpacked in the context of ‘Place’ and ‘Person’, of the Himalayas and India, exploring differences and diversity in nature, in us, in society, and the world at large. The program had a cohort of 8 international artists and 7 Indian artists, along with 3 mentors led by Dr. Rachel Smith from Taylor University, Indiana, USA.
In nature's realm, where colours blend,
A tale of want and need transcends,
Within the leaves, a subtle grace,
Unfolding as they change their face.
Once vibrant green, they proudly gleam,
With sunlight's kiss, a verdant dream,
But when the rays begin to wane,
Their hues transform a vibrant strain.
From emerald tones to fiery red,
A cry for sustenance widespread,
The leaves reveal their deepest plea,
To thrive and grow, once more, to be.
Oh, want, the ache that fills the air,
The longing for what isn't there,
But need, a voice that whispers wise,
Urging them toward life's compromise.
And so, the birds of colour weave,
Within each leaf, a tale that grieves,
The yearning for what can't be found,
And finding solace in whatever is left around.
